This movement workshop is for all levels! Participants will be guided to explore pleasure, self awareness and collective investigation through sensory play, improv and choreography. Come ready to share and explore what brings your body joy!
Lovey Goldmine
Act Development: (They’re probably not looking at your shoes)
10:00-11:00AM
This class focuses on developing a complete burlesque act inspired by Broadway musicals and theatrical performance. Dancers will explore how to find inspiration by fully immersing themselves in character, using music, lyrics, and storytelling to build a compelling stage presence.

Twerk & Jerk

The class that has everyone ready to pop, wobble, werk, and wine!!!
This high-energy choreography intensive is not for the faint of heart. Fusing the sensuality of burlesque with the sharp attitude of hip hop, this class will focus on isolations, footwork, and of course…THE BOOTY! Class begins with a warm up and stretch and moves into a combination of popping your favorite asset. Learn coveted moves such as the Booty Chaser and the Slow Wine! Drop it like it's hot and pick it back up again! Some dance experience is recommended.
***Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing in which you can easily move. Booty shorts and knee pads recommended. Bring a water bottle.
Lola Van Ella
Hosting Fundamentals
12:00-1:00PM
In this class, accomplished emcee Lola van Ella will help anyone interested in creating a stage persona and improving their stage presence for any kind of spoken stage performance, including the intimidating emcee role. Lola will guide students through a number of theater exercises, demonstrations and show and tell to help improve confidence, and empower students to be "off the cuff", charming, and quick witted on the microphone. The class will work together to build characters, come up with stage intros and outros, and work to build the tools to be better and more present stage characters.
Please bring a pen and notebook to class.
